The Artist
A potter since 1974, Anne Armstrong lives and works in rural Waterford, Ontario, Canada.
In 1981 Anne established her business-- Brickworks Pottery --and has been making pottery full-time ever since.
A graduate in Applied Photography at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario (May 1974) Anne began potting in continuing education night classes in September of that same year. Potting was only an occasional pursuit until Anne and her husband Steve moved to Norfolk County in the summer of 1979.
Settling first in Port Dover and later moving to an 1898 farmhouse near Waterford, Anne was able to continue potting while raising her family. That family today consists of two daughters, two Golden Retrievers, two horses, and a pond full of goldfish!

Anne is available for workshops and will be taking private students in the spring of 2008. Although for many years Anne's work primarily consisted of functional pottery (teapots, casseroles, bowls, etc.) her current work has vastly changed. Now specializing in primitive firing methods she produces pit fired and raku fired art pieces. These pieces have complex and beautiful surfaces. Anne sells her work at her studio/showroom and it is also available at various galleries and at select art shows.
